Energy Auditing and Management Course

Introduction:

In this energy audit and management training course, participants will study power quality and evaluate its effects on the reliability of electrical systems. The course begins with a clear definition of power quality, which provides a foundation for establishing baseline conditions and evaluating improvements.

Additionally, the course will examine methods for assessing reliability. Participants will learn how to measure power quality and understand the necessary changes to improve reliability within electrical systems.

Objectives:

At the end of the energy audit and management training program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand power quality and reliability terminology.
  • Evaluate the effects of voltage sags on sensitive equipment.
  • Understand the implications of fault clearing on post-fault voltage stability.
  • Use standardized reliability indices in their evaluations.
  • Identify the causes of transient overvoltages and specify the appropriate arresters.
  • Recognize harmonic production causes and apply mitigation strategies.
  • Describe the different components of AC power and their relevance to voltage regulation.

Training Methodology:

  • Problem-based learning
  • Simulations
  • Hands-on activities
  • Assessments and quizzes
  • Field visits
  • Expert guest speakers
