Materials and Welding Issues in Offshore Oil and Gas Industry

This course deals with material and welding problems met in the ocean’s oil and gas industry and enhances one’s understanding of the selection, use, and effectiveness of materials in aggressive environments. They will acquire skills of dealing with routine welding practices and working towards preserving the integrity of offshore structures, pipelines and equipment.

Introduction:

The offshore oil and gas industry presents unique challenges in materials selection, welding, and corrosion. This comprehensive 5-day course explores welding, metallurgy, and corrosion issues related to materials used in offshore installations.

 

Objectives:

By the end of the Offshore Welding and Materials Challenges in Oil and Gas course, participants will be able to:

  • State the materials used in offshore oil and gas environments and the associated welding engineering challenges.
  • Identify corrosion issues and life cycle engineering aspects in offshore oil and gas operations.
