Commissioning and Testing Course

Introduction:

Upon completion of the Commissioning and Testing training, participants will acquire essential skills related to electrical installation and commissioning. To qualify equipment for commercial use, all functions must undergo rigorous testing under various conditions. This course provides insights into how the performance of a system depends on the meticulous execution of each stage of the testing process.

Startup energization, the final step in equipment validation, involves energizing equipment and initiating loading operations. Discussions will encompass seismic studies of oil and gas facilities, complex drug testing protocols used for commissioning, and accepted industry practices.

Commissioning is a crucial stage that helps identify errors from earlier project phases. Engineers must handle both high and low voltages and currents during testing. Proper training ensures they can navigate current circumstances and processes effectively, allowing them to organize and strategize the commissioning process meticulously.

In the oil and gas sector, testing and commissioning are vital components of project delivery. This course addresses the meaning, relevance, and implementation of testing and commissioning processes in the context of corrosion testing, pressure testing, well testing, and production testing.

Objectives:

By the end of this Commissioning and Testing course, participants are expected to:

  • Comprehend the process of testing and commissioning.
  • Conduct planning and background work for testing.
  • Develop a plan for and undertake inspections.
  • Perform basic and detailed injections.
  • Develop a plan for first energization.
  • Conduct phasing tests.
  • Pay attention to safety precautions during testing and commissioning.
  • Prepare for testing and assist staff in performing these processes.
  • Inform participants about construction works or maintenance of structures related to testing and equipment.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing regarding testing and commissioning experiences.
  • Explain the essence and importance of testing equipment during both construction and operational phases of electrical power systems.
  • Enhance participants’ awareness of safety measures during technical testing and commissioning.
