  • Conduct spend analysis and understand Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Perform supplier portfolio and classification analysis using Kraljic’s Matrix and Porter’s 5 Forces.
  • Develop strategic purchasing plans and manage order-cycle and lead-time effects.
  • Plan and organize effective negotiations.

 

Unit 3: Strategic Supply in the Materials Management Process

  • Plan and organize stock decision-making procedures.
  • Examine safety stock levels, order point systems, and Min/Max systems.
  • Analyze material forecasts and create efficient bills of materials.

  • Apply rationalization strategies and Economic Order Quantity Theory.
